Sampled confirmed-block activity

On-chain Activity

Sampled transactions with at least 50 BTC in total output value, with methodology kept distinct from the observation.

What this page samples

BitcoinTrench scans blocks as they confirm and lists transactions moving at least 50 BTC in total output value. It starts from the three most recent blocks when you open the page and follows the chain from there. This is a sample, not a complete census of large transfers, and it does not attempt to identify who is behind any of them.

Observed

Large transfers in confirmed blocks.

How to read it

Three things this data cannot tell you.

Output value is not payment value

Bitcoin transactions return change to the sender. A transaction with 500 BTC of total output may be a 5 BTC payment with 495 BTC of change going straight back to the same wallet. Total output value overstates economic movement, often by a lot.

The largest address is not the recipient

BitcoinTrench displays the largest output address because it is the only one that can be shown without guessing. On a transaction with change, that address frequently belongs to the sender, not to whoever was paid.

No entity attribution

Naming the party behind an address requires clustering heuristics and proprietary datasets whose error rates are not published. BitcoinTrench does not do that here. Where an address has been publicly attributed in court records or official statements, it appears on wallet monitoring with its basis stated.
