What BitcoinTrench does and does not provide
Disclaimer
BitcoinTrench provides data, analytics, research and education. It does not provide financial or investment advice.
What BitcoinTrench provides
Data, analytics, research and educational material about Bitcoin, compiled from public sources and from calculations performed on Bitcoin’s consensus rules.
What BitcoinTrench does not provide
Financial advice, investment advice, trading recommendations, price targets, or any guarantee of outcome. Nothing on this site is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any asset, and nothing here is tailored to your circumstances.
Limitations
Please read these before relying on anything here.
- External data can be delayed or wrong. BitcoinTrench depends on third-party APIs and publisher feeds. Those services experience outages, rate limits and occasional errors. Where a source fails, BitcoinTrench shows the last good value with its age, or says the metric is unavailable — but it cannot detect a provider that is confidently reporting something incorrect.
- Projections are projections. Halving dates, difficulty adjustments and any time estimate depend on assumptions about how fast blocks arrive. They will move. They are labelled as estimates everywhere they appear.
- Estimates are contested. Lost-coin figures, sovereign holdings and the Patoshi-pattern range are researchers’ inferences, not measurements. Reasonable analysts disagree about all of them.
- Reported holdings are not verified balances. Corporate and government figures come from filings, statements and forensic work. Almost none can be checked against the chain, and they may be out of date at the moment you read them.
- BitcoinTrench indicators are descriptive. They summarise current network conditions using published formulas. They are not predictive, have not been validated against future outcomes, and must not be treated as trading signals.
- Verify anything that matters. If a figure would inform a real decision, check it against the underlying source. BitcoinTrench names its sources on every page precisely so that you can.

Bitcoin carries risk
Bitcoin’s price is volatile and it can lose value rapidly. Self-custody carries the permanent risk of losing access. Third-party custody carries counterparty risk. Regulatory and tax treatment varies by jurisdiction and changes. Consider consulting a qualified professional who knows your circumstances before making financial decisions.
